We’ll still be open, and you can park behind our store and walk through to the shop front with minimal fuss, so it’s easy to still pop in and visit and grab what you need. Look who’s representing NZ Butchery in a global competition.

Our own butchery apprentice Rhys Tamanui will be joining one other apprentice butcher and two young butchers, representing New Zealand on the world stage at the World Champion Butcher Apprentice and Young Butcher competition in Paris in March 2025, as the curtain-raiser event for the World Butchers Challenge.

We couldn’t be more proud of Rhys and his achievements. He has worked incredibly hard to reach this level and to be recognised by his peers – and we’ll be right there with him, cheering him on in 2025. We really do have the most incredibly talented team at Waipawa Butchery.
