Meet the Skilled Team Behind Waipawa Butchery
At Waipawa Butchery, we’re more than just your local butcher — we’re a close-knit team passionate about delivering top-quality meat and ready-made meals to our community and customers across New Zealand.
Our butchery team; Hawaiki, Mike, and Rhys are experienced professionals who take real pride in their work. A special shout-out to Rhys, who represented New Zealand in 2025 as part of the Sharp Blacks at the World Butchery Competition in Paris, earning 3rd place in the world in the Apprentice Butcher category.
Helen, Beki, Hannah, and Lynne make up our outstanding Front of House and Production team, known for their friendliness, attention to detail, and efficiency. They’re supported by Jan, who not only runs the Waipawa Butchery Kitchen and creates our delicious ready-made heat & eat meals, but is also an amazing cook and a key part of our customer service team.
We’re also lucky to have Rory and James on board part-time, supporting the production team and keeping the butchery clean and pristine each evening, an essential role that helps us maintain our high standards.
Susan takes care of the office and admin, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, while Annabel oversees all areas of the business with dedication and care.
At home on the Farm
Out on the farm, Duncan with help from Bob and Adrian manages operations to ensure quality and consistency from paddock to plate.
And when Tabatha and Rupert are home from university and school, you’ll often find them helping out in the butchery, keeping the family business truly a family affair.
